WESTERLY PENTLAND KETCH1979Bilge Keel Yacht: 32' 6'' Length, 9' 6'' Beam, 3' 7'' DraftThis Westerly Pentland, designed by Laurent Giles, has a conventional centre cockpit layout that offers 6 berths in three cabins. Galley and dinette in the saloon, separate heads compartment, forward cabin, berths in the saloon and a double cabin in the stern.A good suite of sails, two being recent, are backed up by a Volvo Marine diesel which gives 23 hp, runs reliably well. Roller reefing on the headsail with lines back to the centre cockpit which offers enormous protection. Wheel steering to a semi balanced grp rudder; triple bladed bronze propellor with a rope cutter. She has twin bilge keels bolted into the hull which act as ballast, drawing only 3' 7'', so ideal for coastal, estuary and river use.All gear needed to sail is aboard. A spacious craft with standing headroom all the way through the saloon and fore cabin. She could be taken out and sailed today. Does need ongoing general maintenance as she's had little use for a couple of years due to deteriorating vision. The boat has not, however, just been left untended. The owner has decided to part with her with some sadness as she's been an enjoyable and reliable craft in his ownership for some ten years plus. She can be viewed at Leigh on sea, Essex, by appointment. Lying on a drying mooring over the creek, so Wellingtons or a short row required. You can contact me through ebay and I will do my best to provide relevant information, otherwise I can put you in touch with the owner.Additional photos will be available on request if you phone. t 07768 38 40 30.
