1997 Hunter
Estimated price for orientation: 95 000 $
Category: Sailboats 28 feet
Class:
Description Condition: Used Year: 1997 Make: Hunter
Our 1997 Hunter 40.5 is an attractive, fast, comfortable and
dry boat that will take a crew of 2 or more anywhere in the world. My wife and I have enjoyed several trips to
the Bahamas on her. It is fully equipped
and ready to cruise. This is not a stock
Hunter 40.5. It has over $20,000 in
upgrades. It has a spacious, bright and
well ventilated varnished TEAK interior.
There is exceptional human engineering with many steps, braces and hand
holds for comfort under sail or at anchored.
There is great visibility seated or standing at the helm. The galley and heads have Corian counter
tops, the SS stove has 3 burners, the 2 heads are electric and the refrigerator
and freezer have independent 12V cold plate systems. The aft cabin has a full queen mattress that
takes standard bedding. There is lots of
storage. Most of the electronics were
replaced in 2015. A massive arch
supports solar panels and a 10’ dinghy in multiple positions with the high
position for ocean passages. It is not necessary
to store the dinghy on deck for such passages.
You will enjoy cruising on this boat and not maintaining it. There is no exterior wood for the sun to
attack and the keel is rust proof LEAD.
The 7000 lb keel provides great stability and a shoal, 4’11”, draft
which is necessary for the Intercoastal Waterway and the Bahamas. You will be among the first boats to arrive
at an anchorage and not the last. This boat is located on the E coast of Florida. See the following web site for many great reviews of the 40.5 and my listing where you will find more photos and an extensive equipment list. Buy it now and be ready to cruise Florida or the Bahamas this fall. Contact me if you have questions and want to see the boat.
