1978 Catalina
Estimated price for orientation: 6 000 $
Category: Sailboats 28 feet
Class:
Description Condition: Used Year: 1978 Make: Catalina
OPEN HOUSE - MUST SELL this coming weekend, July 16th and 17th. Moving
to Hawaii. All offers considered. Can be seen at the Belfast City
Marina in Maine. Ready to sale away. Comes with many extras, including a brand
new dinghy. Was rewiring for LED lighting. The front starboard and
port navigation lights still need to be changed out and connections to
the switch panel, a quick and easy job for someone who is handy. Here
are some of the highlights: 30' Catalina Tall Rig w/recently rebuilt
Atomic 4 gasoline engine. 30 hp runs smooth and quiet. New main sail,
roller furling jib, genoa and whisker pole. Tiller steering. Tiller
works fine but is delaminating. A new one is $139 from "Catalina Owners" web
site or $142 from Catalina Direct. 18 Gal fresh water tank, expandable
to 42 gal (recommend for live aboard or blue water cruising). 20 gal
stainless gas tank. Bladder style waste tank. it's an after market
add-on. Not sure of capacity. Has auto pilot. New 1100 watt (2200 peak) inverter.
Gimbled, two burner gas stove. Brand new Uniden VHF and Shakespear
antenna. Solar panel for charging the house battery. Interior clean and
neat, a very roomy boat, sleeps 7. Hull needs a paint job (dull but in
good shape). I was trying to get it completed enough to get it to
Florida to finish it off. Work is a LOT less expensive down south where
there is more competition and the weather is warmer. If I had it to do
over again I would still buy the same boat. The price range from Boat
Trader for this year, model, and its condition ranges from $14K to $24K.
I picked it up for $7000 on a distress sale. It had been sitting in
storage for 3 years because the owners couldn't sail anymore and wanted
to get out from under the storage fee. It's good to go and includes new
owners/service/and parts manuals. I'm asking $6000 for quick sale, but
will consider all offers. Price includes a fully equipped galley w/all
new pots and pans, dishes, and utensils. Finnish up the wiring and
connections and she's ready to sail away. This is a
great live aboard boat for someone testing the waters for this life
style.The sailing season is short
here, so, I'm going to have it at a slip at the marina this coming
weekend, the 16th and 17th, open to the public to come aboard and check
her out. She's ready to sail away. Did I mention that a new dinghy is included?
