Description

42ft Harborough marine narrow boat 'barmouth' was built in 1979 by Harborough marine for Anglo welsh , she is a 42ft steel hulled GRP super structured vessel.she has a BMC 1500 diesel engine and hydraulic gear box.I bought this boat 2 years ago as a shell intending to refit her as a project and as you can see from the pictures a vast amount of work has been done to her. in the last 12 months she has been out of the water and has 3 coats of blacking, 4 x new anodes, engine fully serviced and new glow plugs and alternator fitted. she has also had a new starter battery a 3  leisure batteries (2 of them new). a 100w solar panel with control unit has been installed and is in working order and an automatic bilge pump.  she has also had an interior refit and boasts a dining area which converts as sleeping area for 2 people with storage area underneath for quilts etc. she has a large water tank and running cold water via an electric pump, also on board is a fridge, microwave, electric kettle, small flat screen TV/ dvd all of which can be powered by the on-board 2000w inverter. there is also a dual fuel stove which heats the boat lovely.the middle section of the boat has doors that when closed 'create' a separate toilet/shower area. there is a new cassette toilet which is included in the sale of the boat and also a 12v shower( which works on a separate water system ) and folding glass shower screen. the outside of the super structure has been sanded back and primed ready for top coat of paint which the buyer can do at their leisure.'barmouth' has a current BSC until march 2019 but is not licenced as she is moored in a private marina in Stockport area ( the mooring is not included in the sale).I did fully intend on finishing this project but work commitments have prevented me from doing this which forces a reluctant sale.as she is 'unfinished' there are certain jobs that will need doing, the biggest one being while she was out of the water I was made aware by an experienced boat engineer that she would need her hull re-plating  in the near future, this is common with boats of her age but other sellers decline to mention this so please bear this in mind before committing to bid. the other jobs that require doing are more minor and can be done at your  leisure( i.e. windows resealing, some minor leaks on roof, top coat of paint, bow wooden flooring will need replacing ).although she needs work doing, 'barmouth' can be sailed away and enjoyed as she currently on the water and I have used her for various trips including sleeping aboard and she has performed without any problems. as you can see from the pictures 'barmouth' has a large bow with unusual tunnel bars, which makes her look rather unique and draws attention to her. I would recommend viewing on her so you can make your own opinion before deciding to bid, which can be arranged for most days at a time that suits us both.there is no reserve but I am open to sensible offers on her, cash on collection or bank transfer within 48 hours of auction ending and the boat would have to be removed /collected from its moorings by Saturday 2nd July 2016any questions, please feel free to ask and I will respond as soon as possible.please note that some personal items will be removed from the boat and are not included in the sale.
