This is an award winning boat was a kit built from the Adirondack Guide Boat Company in Vermont. They currently build the best Adirondack Guide Boats. It won third place at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum's Small Craft Festival. Points were lost because is was from a kit, not from lack of craftsmanship. It is in excellent condition and only used a few times.Boat is 14 feet long and 40 inches wide. Boat is western red cedar on laminated yellow pine ribs. Each strip is attached with brass screws and overlaid with 6 oz. fiber glass cloth using MAS marine epoxy. Six coats of Captains Spar Varnish over entire boat. Boat weighs around 55 lbs without floor board and seats. Seats are all cherry with two fixed seats and a removable/adjustable middle seat. All have backrests. Oars are 8ft. long cherry. Gunnels and interior bracing cherry. Decks are western red cedar, walnut, maple, and pine. Brass hardware is replica antique. Two rowing stations.
