For sale we have our 1981 Hudson Force 50 Bluewater cruiser .Farscape is a full keeled pilothouse cutter ketch, a true blue water cruiser designed by the world renowned  William Garden, a US and Canadian trained naval architect. Introduced in 1973, they were built in Taiwan at the rate of approx. a dozen a year until 1984 when the boatyard burned down ,  Farscape being a later 1981 model .She has three staterooms, master is aft with head, two double guest cabins forward with shared head and step in shower. Being a Pilothouse she has an inside helm station, and lower saloon with desk. L-shaped settee to starboard going forward to starboard is a double guest cabin and to port is the head and shower. Forward is an upper and lower to starboard, workbench and cupboards to port with plenty of storage throughout .She has the potential to be a world class cruising sailboat with a touch of the much loved traditional layout , complete with a long bowsprit and  wooden spars . Teak abounds below decks , above decks the teak has been removed and the deck glassed over except in the rear cockpit by the helm station . The reason for removing the teak on the decks is these boats are prone to leak through the teak decks and this is a sure fire permanent solution to overcome a common problem from most older Taiwanese built cruisers .Farscape was purchased by ourselves at a US Marshall Sale , she is a documented vessel and will be sold with all necessary documentation to transfer ownership to the new owner .She has not been our personal vessel for the last 10 years so our knowledge of her is limited to what we know and have seen .We are selling her as a project for a reason she needs work , this is not for the faint of heart , you either need to have reasonable wood working experience or expect to pay someone to get her ready for sailing again . In simple terms she took on water while being dry stored on land , approx. 8 to 10 inches as you can clearly see from the pictures . her beams appear to be solid under the flooring however there are areas on the floor that will need shoring up . This is a project boat , it has loads of potential but will require some work , that said it is not easy to find large 50 blue water cruisers at a reasonable price ! The engine has been pickled and is full of diesel , the water level does not appear to have gone too high around the engine so I am not sure of the engines condition , we have not attempted to look at it and I would count on having to strip it down go through it and possibly consider rebuilding it , up to the new owner .The first 2 pictures of Farscape were taken in November of 2015 so are approx. 6 months old , her masts were then taken down and she was shrink wrapped for winter . the pictures of her shrink wrapped in the water were taken around 1 week ago so that is exactly what she currently looks like . she does not leak at all and is safely stored in her slip . We have paid storage through September of 2016 , we can also have her dry stored at your expense if you are unable to come down and would rather she was on land , the good news is that she is still shrink wrapped and as such is well protected . Please make sure you do have the funds available if you make an offer to purchase , if you need to consult with your Guru , check with your wife , girlfriend ,Rabbi , priest or any other person in your life please do so before bidding ,  we are a small family run business and rely on getting paid in order to pay our staff . Sorry to have to state the obvious but sadly many people do not actually understand eBay . The bottom line here is we have a world class fiberglass blue water cruiser , her hull is solid and she is a great platform from which to rebuild and bring her back to her former glory , she is a PROJECT , yes she needs work but with sweat equity you have the potential of owning a $100,000 plus boat for a fraction of the price , we may consider partial trades like an RV , Historic or classic cars , gold ( and sorry your Cutlass Ciera does not count as a classic car just reliable transportation ) however our first choice would be cash  .We have done some  trading in the past and it can work if all parties are realistic with what they have .
