Very stable boat - never tipped her over even in strong winds. Bouyancy chambers fore-aft-port-stb. Approximately 250 lbs weight of boat and mast/sails. No motor mount but one could be added. I have the complete build manual and pictures. Compare to Whitehall Spirit 14' sailing rowboat at $27K with trailer - a lovely boat but not nearly the level of detail of this boat. The latest Chuck Paine designed 14' daysailor is great but costs $38,500 in fiberglass and $65,000 in wood. The Dolphin 14's inlaid teak veneer hatch cover, dolphin figurehead, and other custom touches make her one of a kind and virtually irreplaceable. However insurance brokers need a value so she is insured for $10,000 and her replacement cost is around $30K. She was voted one of the People's Choice winners at the June 2015 San Diego Wooden Boat Festival. Most importantly she sails and rows fantastically. I have sailed her in San Diego Bay in a stiff breeze, significant swell, and lots of chop all the way to buoy 7 off Point Loma. She handled it far better than I would have imagined - she skims over the swells and wakes with hardly a drop of spray with no fear of capsizing at an indicated 5-6 knots. The bottom line is she is a very fast, confidence inspiring boat. The only negative to her design is she does not point as high with her gaff rig as more modern marconi rigged boats but she screams off the wind. And most boats within earshot shouted how pretty she is. The only reason for considering selling her is I plan on going cruising in 2016 and finding good indoor storage for her is not looking feasible. Comes with 2008 Trailex SUT-250 trailer in near new condition as well. Boat is currently garaged in Tucson AZ but she will be at this years San Diego Wooden Boat Festival June 18-19.
