Hi and welcome to this auction for my Shakespear speedboat. I bought this ages ago with every intention of ' mucking about on the water' but have since bought a campervan and this boat has ended up tucked away in a garage rather than giving someone a bit of fun. She is 14 feet long, age unknown but in presentable condition - although there are a few age related marks and the blue gel coat has bloomed a bit ! The trailer is getting on a bit but seems to be very serviceable . There is a hand winch fixed to the front and it rolls easily. The tyres have legal tread but , due to age I think, there is some quite considerable cracking to the walls . I towed the boat back about 100 miles without any problem ( about 8 months ago) but the winning bidder would have to take this into consideration if towing her home and don't forget to bring a lightboard. The wheels are standard classic mini so might be worth borrowing a couple if possible for the ride home. The engine I bought with the boat turned out to be beyond repair so I got hold of this one. It runs very well but has only been started on the frame you can see in the photos with a temporary fuel tank. The control cables -steering, throttle and gear change are all in the boat ,as are two elderly steel fuel tanks. So..... yes,a bit of assembly is required here but, except for a bit of fuel pipe, I think it's all there and I don't think it would take very long before she's back together and in the water. Now, as you may have realised, I am a bit of a landlubber so I strongly advise anyone interested to come and have a good look over her before bidding so you know exactly what you are buying. Cash on collection works best for me and please collect within seven days from Ely, Cambs. Any questions please ask and I'll do my best to answer. Thanks for looking. |
