Knarr is a 1957 lifeboat conversion, thick fibreglass bottom and sides /wooden top, about 9ft beam. Newly painted inside and out. Big double bed with a new 200litre water tank underneath, kitchen, gas boiler, hobs, sink, fridge, toilet and shower, multi-fuel burner, 2 leisure batteries, BSS until 2018, 170w solar system, led lighting, it has an inboard 1.9 Peugeot engine inside that we no longer use as it was too powerful on the river. I recommend ripping it out making more storage especially if it was to be lived in. I have installed an outboard which makes navigating around London easy and fun, it is well secured with hidden bolts and locks. The outboard is a recently serviced 10hp Honda which runs great and is more than enough power for this size and type of boat. I have had a lot of fun and done a lot of work to this boat and would be great to see it go to a good home. I am selling now as I have a third child and we needed a bigger boat. We have not got a mooring as we continually cruise the waterways and this suits us better as we like the adventurer lifestyle better. This means that we move a minimum of every two weeks and have to move a distance of at least 20miles in any given year. This is fine as even boats with moorings have to move this often to fill up their water tanks and empty their cassette toilets. A licence costs approximately £400 per year and insurance only £67 with Basic-boat insurers. We buy about 3 gas bottles a year which cost £25 each. There are no hidden costs. We burn wood we get for free to heat the boat during the winter and have to have the hatch above the bed open as it it very warm and cosy.
