Speed Boat Marshan 17 with 2011 90 hp Mercury Optimax For sale is my beautifully restored 17 foot Marshan “Romney Raider” speedboat. She is a very rare and beautiful, fast, stylish boat. She turns lots of heads and is a big talking point. She is a circa 1972 prototype Marshan boat believed to be one of only three made. The boat was original known as a “Romney Raider” at prototype stage and later became known as a Marshan. The Marshan brand is now synonymous with high performance boat racing and winning championships. I bought the boat as a shell and had it professionally restored on a no expense spared basis. She has been painted Ferrari red (the original colour was purple with glitter) and the chrome has all been re done. The original seats were reupholstered by Morgan Cars who also fitted the marine carpet. The engine is a 2011 90 hp Mercury Optimax. Mercury are in my view the best outboard engines in the world and she was originally fitted with a 50 hp Mercury and so I thought it was a nice touch to have the same brand of engine fitted now. There are some small scratches to the engine and boat which may be able to be polished out and one quite large scratch on the top of the engine cover. It could easily be repainted or touched up but I haven’t done it as it didn’t really bother me. The boat also needs a good clean as she has been stored this winter in a barn. She is 17 foot long and very narrow. She comes with a Snipe trailer. I have just had new bearings so she is ready to tow away. My reason for selling is that I have two other boats and don’t really have room for her. I only used her twice this year which a waste. She is a lovely classic boat with a great heritage. Makes a great fun day boat, ski boat or could be raced. She needs to go to a good home. I require a deposit immediately upon successful bid and payment in full before collection as the boat was previously sold at auction but I was messed about by the buyer. Any questions please call me on .
