Thanks for looking! Up for grabs is this SUPER RARE North Atlantic 29 , junk rigged sailboat. I have decided reluctantly to list my North Atlantic 29 , factory Junk Rig sailboat for sale. I have 2 sailboats … and just want to concentrate on finishing my other one. The North Atlantic 29 was made by the Bounty Yacht company in California , they made approximately 8-10 of these. They are INCREDIBLY rare …and owners rarely sell them. She would make an excellent "go anywhere" boat for a solo sailor or couple. Chris and Jess Bray have done some fantastic voyages on a cold molded version of this design. They voyaged the entire Northwest Passage! you can google "Teleport" and see videos online of their incredible voyage …and how bulletproof the NA29 is.. They are also selling their boat for $30,000.I just lowered the reserve and Buy It Now for a quick sale . If she doesn't go at this price , I will continue fixing her up myself … and the price will go up. She is a U.S. Coast Guard Documented Vessel and is located in Alameda , California She is a spectacular design ……with a very unique , all weather "mid cockpit" … she can be sailed from inside the warmth of the boat. She also has a gimbaled , swinging seat , so you can sit and 'drive " the boat while relaxing and enjoying the view! After spending the last few weeks aboard , cleaning her up and taking stock , it appears that the previous owner was right in the middle of a complete refit when he sold her. Some gear is only partially installed …meaning not wired up yet and never used. She has many projects to complete …but is an incredibly well built and ROCK SOLID boat. The boat is "geared up" very well : Wind Generator , Sailomat 3040 wind vane, GPS , Chartplotter , all wind/speed sailing instruments ,a new (uninstalled) 20 gallon fuel tank, 35 lb. CQR knockoff anchor with tons of chain, miles of spare line , a never used $3000. Maxwell power anchor windlass , 2 gorgeous Anderson self tailing winches ,and even has a "Hasler-esque" clear plexiglass dome for one of the round hatches …VERY COOL! I have the tanbark sail partially rigged (just need to do the parrels) and it and all battens are in fine condition. The Volvo MD7a (13 h.p.)was partially taken apart , and I , along with some mechanical help , deduced that he was cleaning out the cooling system … pretty common on these. I just spent the last week cleaning and putting the motor back together with new gaskets. She spins freely and has great compression ….but ….now the starter is frozen from sitting so long and needs a rebuild (the starter) She needs a haul and new bottom paint. Previous owner cut out half of the starboard settee to build a proper galley …so , there is a big hole there. The new bulkhead is already cut ….ready to build to suit. a few days of work sorting the engine …and she will be out sailing , another month of sweat and elbow grease …and you will have a fine , junk rigged vessel that can take you anywhere in safety , comfort and style. Designed by Angus Primrose and Blondie Hasler LOA: 29'3 , LWL: 23' , Beam: 9'7 , Draft: 5'6 Sail area: 429 sq. ft. , Ballast: 4200 lb. lead encapsulated thick , solid , fiberglass hull The boat is in Alameda , Ca. in a transferable slip in a very cool Marina right next door to a boat yard and numerous boating businesses. Slip rental is approximately $260. per month I have listed her with a reserve of $7800.00 an absolute steal for this boat. I priced her low for a quick sale. Feel free to ask any and all questions …or to come see her. My phone: 650 701 6452 Thanks for looking!Having dealt with a few flakey bidders in the past , if you have zero or low feedback please contact me prior to bidding , or I will have to cancel your bid. thanks for understanding.
