SALTERLIFE is possibly the best unrestored and well-maintained Matthews Motor Yacht available anywhere. A Truly classic 70's yacht that gets a lot of attention on the water and at the marina! The perfect Cruiser, Liveaboard or Florida Keys weekend getaway.
Refit to main salon during 2015 includes new wood floors, full-size washer & dryer, 4-burner stove, double sink, two new refrigerators, and kitchen cabinets. All upgrades were done in a temporary fashion knowing that the next owner may want to restore this beautiful Matthews Motor Yacht to it's original condition. Sleeps a total of four - Master stateroom sleeps two with unbelievable closet space and private bath with full shower. Front V-berth with two additional bunks and a 2nd bathroom with shower. Less than 1300 hours on rebuilt engines, which run great. All systems have been checked and repaired or replaced. Custom swim platform, recently installed aluminum window frames, new Garmin GPS, batteries, anchor line, etc. Onan 7.5 Kw generator in good running condition. Boat was hauled in June 2015 and we had the bottom cleaned and painted, including running gear. Sides were also compounded and waxed and two new bilge pumps were installed. New zincs were installed. Boat was carefully examined and inspected. (Total for this work was over $6000) Bottom has been cleaned by divers every month since. All filters have been replaced and two new batteries were installed with all new cables and switches. Starboard starter and fuel pump were replaced. Vacuflush toilets were repaired including new main pump. ($900) New Garmin GPS was installed. ($1200) Two new refrigerators were also installed. Custom underwater exhaust, new custom swim platform and new windless were installed by previous owner before our purchase. We added 150' of new anchor chain and 200' of line. ($1200) All portable fire extinguishers were replaced. Smoke alarm & C02 detectors were installed. Safety flares were replaced. Boat was hauled again in January of 2016 for inspection and cleaning. Marine AC unit in salon and main stateroom were replaced with portable household AC units to increase efficiency and cut power cost. Marine AC unit in front bedroom works excellent.Includes 2 anchors, original Matthews dock box, ( installed on bow ) original searchlight, fenders, lines, VHF radio, FM/CD player, compass, barometer, 26" TV in Stateroom and front cushions with canvas cover.This vessel is in great shape for her age. The twin Detroit 671 Diesel engines start immediately and run strong. Engine oil and all filters were changed in May of 2016. This vessel is very fuel efficient and runs at 10-12 knots at 1500-1800 RPM. The hull is solid, tight, and built like a tank.
