Up for bid is a 1979 28 foot Oday Sailboat. I have owned this for a little over a year. I was under the impression that I had the time to work on it and it just never came. I got a good deal on it and now I’m going to resell it in such a way as to pass on a good deal to someone else. What you will get -Working marine band radio -Working navigation lights (once the wiring is corrected) -The sails are fair -The lines should be replaced but can be used for a season. -Stove -Built in ice chest -Working AM/FM radio - A Plexiglas saloon hatch cover (I made this, it’s kind of rough looking, but allows sunlight into the saloon while keeping out the rain and wind. The regular wooden slatted cover is included as well. -Two small fenders -A few side lines A few words key points -There is a piece missing from the bottom of the rudder. It would be an easy fix for someone with a fiberglass kit. -There is no engine. I bought it that way and I have never put one in it… I did discover that I was able to attach my 62 LB thrust trolling motor to bring me to and from a dock. -One of the small stanchions was broken when I got it initially and I never repaired it. -There is no active ventilation fans in place and once you buy the boat it would be wise to get one on eBay or amazon for 50 dollars and put it in to get some of the air moving in the boat. -The last 8 inches of the tiller had broken off (it was old) but it will still work just fine for some one that wants to sail her out of her current port. - There is no trailer please have a plan to sail it or have it shipped or sailed from the current docking she’s at. -The last owner appears to have dropped a new head and it has never been set up. -There are no cushions on board. -Most of the wiring needs to be redone -There is light stress fracturing on the saloon deck (very common on these boats) I’m starting this bid at one dollar, please be aware that work will need to be done on this boat. It is not simply a turnkey project. That being said. There are both way nicer boats and way worse off boats on sale here on eBay. I have listed any and all items of concern. But, this boat is in better shape than most of the donated boats I’ve seen for sale here. Good luck and happy bidding.
