A classic shoal draft yacht from the board of the famous designer Maurice Griffiths, who was also the founding editor of Yachting Monthly. At the time, Medusa's were described as safe, comfortable, easy to handle and cheap to maintain.Survey completed in 2010 valued this yacht at £6500. Built by F1 Glass Construction in 1967. It is a twin bilge keeled and deep moulded skeg roomy family cruising yacht.  LOA 7.50m (24'7")LWL 5.80m (19'0")Beam 2.40m (7'10")Draft Min 0.80m (2'7")Draft Max 0.80m (2'7")Displacement 2,100kg (4,630.5lbs)Headroom 1.80m (5'11")Total # of berths 4No. of double berths 1No. of single berths 2Cabin(s) 2Handbasin 1Heads 1 headsVolvo Penta 2001 series single cylinder 9hp diesel engine in great condition, serviced regularly.  Uses raw water cooling; attached to a reduction gearbox.  Tiller driven.  Propeller is 3 blade bronze fixed prop mounted on a stainless steel shaft supported externally by a white metal cutlass bearing and internally by a grease lubricated packing gland.  12v power system is basic and fully functional, includes 1 battery that is charged from the engine's alternator. Sink pulls out of kitchen cupboard.  Water tank below and pump tap.  There is a gas locker at the stern with a gas line running into the kitchen cupboard though no gas tank or appliances remain. Included in sale are 20lb danforth anchor with 30mtrs of 3/16 inch galvanised chain and fenders, inflatable dinghy, all sails and rigging, spray dodgers, and porcelain Sea Toilet (removed from use though easily re-installed), tiller cover, Bosun compass, barometer, garmin 128 GPS, winches, 2 fire extinguishers, fire blanket and 2 life jackets. Mast is currently down allowing passage under bridges.  Mast support is a stainless steel tabernacle mounted on a varnished teak pad bolted through the coach roof, supported under deck by reinforced laminated bridging and the main bulkhead.   One stanchion has come loose of its base and will need re-secured.  All stainless steel guard wire is included and in good condition. All cleats are securely fastened. Hardwood grab rails are secure, having recently been coated with waterproofing. Windlass is manually operated Simpson Lawrence double action anchor windlass mounted on the foredeck. All sea cocks are secure.  Manual bilge pumps are fully functional.  Wooden escape hatch needs a new hinge.  Insulated waterproof carpet lining installed in V-Berth.  Some thermal foil insulation installed throughout.  Current location is near Reading, in the water on the River Thames.  I will work with the buyer to arrange cranage (crane very near) and transport at your expense or you may collect and cruise to London and then onwards.  Delivery on the Thames or near London could be arranged also at your expense. Will accept viewings/test runs from truly interested buyers; postcode RG92AR.  Happy to answer any questions, send more pictures, speak on the phone etc. Thanks for looking.
