1996 Seadoo XP Jetski on a towable trailer.I have owned this for about 4 years and had many hours of fun using it. My brother had the same model but a year younger so was very practical for diagnosing minor faults and for riding out together. We did this for 3 seasons until his engine took water onboard and it died a sorry death. So, mine was then the only one in use. He sold his and I kept mine, intending to continue using it. However, last year was so busy for me and my work took me out of the country several times, leaving me no spare time to use it. This year has been similar. So, it has to go as I am sick of tripping over it in my garage. It has been well maintained and thoroughly flushed with fresh water after every use. I have also started it several times in the garage and flushed it through - just to keep it in running order and from seizing up (a common problem with these if left to rot).I have always used the correct grade and amount of 2 stroke oil on fill ups and looked after it well. Always been kept in the dry garage and flushed with clean water regularly.I came to it a few weeks ago and noticed the trickle charger I had connected had boiled the battery - a fault I have since discovered to be the charger, not the battery. So, I bought a new battery - and a new charger! The trailer has carpet protected skids and is galvanized, so in good condition. The wheels and bearings are the vulnerable parts as they get dunked into water - so they have suffered a little. Nothing drastic though and certainly in good, useable condition. Tyres are not too bad but there is evidence of crazing where they have been stood in the garage. If I was keeping this, I would replace both wheels and tyres and replace the bearings - they are not expensive and would then allow many more years of service. As it stands though, they will certainly last a while yet so no worries about that for now. It is just me being picky! There are a couple of items to mention - the fuel tap which changes between on and reserve is missing. It has been bypassed and doesn't cause a problem at all. When the fuel is empty, just refill. The choke knob is missing. The plastic disintegrated earlier this year and I haven't got around to replacing it yet. Again, it doesn't cause a problem as the choke cable still moves freely (as I lubricated it last year) and the rod the knob attaches to is easy to pull and hold. So, I don't see it being a problem. The two handle grips seem to attract dirt and grime and really are a pain to clean. Strange rubbery material that doesn't respond well to any cleaning product - hence the blackness. So, all in all, a Jetski that hasn't been butchered and is an honest, used but serviced condition. Please remember it is 20 years old and has the usual age related marks and some slight fading of the plastics from exposure to ultra violet sunlight.I have a service manual with every nut and bolt listed in detail - you won't find one of these with the usual second hand Jetski!Just bring a trailer lighting board and you are away.Cash on collection please (from Wigan WN2) - too heavy and big to post.I will leave the auction to the end, so please no silly offers.Good luck and happy bidding.
