This has a new motor and outdrive (fitted Oct 2003), so do not compare to older Sealines. This is an amazing boat! It's very sad to sell but we're not going to be able to use it much this season or even next - we will be abroad for some time, and only back for short periods. SPEND YOUR SUMMERS IN A LUXURY FLOATING APARTMENT EXPLORING THE SEASIDE BAYS AND COVES Fancy a weekend moored in your floating apartment at a Cowes marina (see a recent photo), or anchored off a private beach perhaps on Cornish coastline, or a week touring France, or Holland (pick a nice day, it's only a few hours crossing from Dover). Its even fantastic to just stay in the home marina for short breaks ... its a fantastic and sexy private apartment on the river / lagoon / sea. This is a really sexy looking cruiser ... expect jealous onlookers. This is the perfect coastal cruiser. Spacious yet compact enough to handle easily, large enough to carry everything you need and more, economical to use, fast and agile, attractive and modern yet affordable compared to newer boats. And specially this one with a newer (October 2003) motor and out-drive (I have installation paperwork etc). Please see photos, they are self descriptive. For sale here is my lovely Sealine S28 (its actually just under 30ft), hull moulded in 1996 launched in 1997. Its moored on the Hamble in Southampton on a fully serviced berth, so ready to explore the Solent. Its had a new 300HP Mercruiser (the best motor) fitted in Oct 2003 with Bravo 3 Duo-prop out-drive, a new (luxury) canopy in 2013 at 4k (this has a special inner lining), and I had a complete bellows and universal joint replaced (they need redoing every few years) in July 2014 at a cost of over 4k euros before returning to UK from Netherlands (the bellows housing had a tear in so needed replacing too), so that's good for another few years. If you buy another boat expect to replace this soon (it's ongoing maintenance with Z-drives), and if its twin motors, well then double the trouble and price! .. specially on motors older than this 2003 model ! I've also just added new cockpit seat base covers ... older ones had a few small cracks. Please look at the pics of the motor ... its spotless and looks brand-new! You can eat off it! Very little use. The motor runs beautifully, doesn't miss a beat, and does not overheat in summer as many with twin motors crammed into the limited size engine bay do. Also its much more economical than twin motors, both on running costs (about 30% less fuel - diesel is expensive!), and maintenance costs (about 45% less), with a better range (because uses less fuel and is lighter). For those not sure about single or twin motors, read the "Testing Times" feature on page 33 of the new (May 15 edition) of British MotorBoat magazine where Dave Marsh points out the advantages of a single, and finds it amusing so many British buyers are still fixated on twins. Also please realize the motor is the most expensive part on these boats - about £20k new + £7k for outdrive (and thats why older boats are so much cheaper than newer) ... the rest of the boat comes from exactly the same moulds etc as newer models costing £50k - £60k. But in this case (as the motor and out-drive was fitted new in October 2003 - upgraded - I have paperwork) ... its as good as those on newer 2004 S28's. So don't compare this to older S28's, compare it to 2004 models (at £50k - £60k!). Manoeuvring into and out of tight berths and moorings is very easy thanks to the help of the factory fitted electric BowThruster. Its had a very recent survey done, but buyer is welcome to arrange their own if they like (once deposit taken etc). Also included not shown in photos is a Garmin GPS 451S Satnav for navigation with UK and Ireland maps, with an underwater sonar / fish-finder built in (if you add the optional sonar sender - its only about £60), VHF radio integrated into GPS (so your coordinates are transmitted automatically with any emergency call), log, depth-finder, compass, remote searchlight, etc. To Do:
a) It only needs a new (£300) controller for the trim tabs, its a small unit on the dashboard. I don't use them, but the next owner may want too, so I will fit a new controller at asking price. Apart from the standard options, this has a bow-thruster which was optional, twin fridges, new luxury (double lined) canopy 2013, eberspacher heating system, twin wash-up basins, foldout ladder and hot/cold rinse-off shower on swimming platform, vhf radio, radio integrated with GPS so co-ordinates will be sent with any distress calls etc, Garmin GPS chart plotter / nav system with depth plotter / fish-finder (needs £60 sender unit to activate this), depth and speed logs. Most boats this age will have had interior and exterior upholstery replaced, this is still original. The interior is perfect and will be good for many years and a testament to how the boat has been looked after, and i have just replaced the cockpit seat bases with new ones. Please no messing around.
I'm not looking for any offers unless they are right on the asking price.
Please make sure you can purchase at advertised price before arranging a viewing.
No tires to kick here, and no sea-trials until the contract is signed and 10% deposit paid. There are more photos if you like at http://nebel.co.uk/picz/index.php/SealineS28 Note: Its on Hamble, near Southampton. Viewing by appointmaent only.British designed and built, bulletproof, and the most popular boat (for good reason) in this class(30ft and under), and are perfectly sized for longer trips away or just a quick weekend cruise. Up to 32ft boats, there is nothing to match them. Note,
There there is a massive difference between this and a S24 or S25 ... compared to this, they are tiny inside, with narrow cockpit and cabin. Yet this is priced to compete with some newer S25's. There are no S28's at this price, even with old motors.  Just antifouled and ready for 2016 season. Wishing you all a GREAT summer full of boating fun!
Thanks
