"Songbird" has been a great family experience for over a decade, not just sailing but looking after her and teaching the kids a range of old-school skills.  She is Oregon over hardwood, and we understand was built in the early 1940's in Newcastle NSW by Rex Steele.   The deck was refitted in the 1970s with ply and fibreglass over the deck.  The hull and sides have not been fibre-glassed and remain tight. The pilot house was also installed around the 1970's.We have anti-fouled and maintained the hull at Noakes every 18mths, but she is now very tired and looking for a new enthusiast to bring her back to glory.  She has not been anti-fouled recently and we have not used her for over a year.  The external out-of-water photos attached are roughly 18 months old.  The internal and deck photos are about 5 years old and the other 2 photos were taken this weekend.  The photos don't show the mess birds have left on the deck - she needs a very good clean.  All of the external timber work has degraded and does not look like it did 5 years ago.The Perkins 406 has not run for over 3 years, with the heat exchanger being unserviceable.  The prop and prop-shaft (side entry) has been removed to stop leaks and do not come with the boat (I cant find them!).  There is an outboard bracket on the stern (no outboard).  Most of the other skin fittings have been sealed as well.  There are two batteries and a solar panel attached to 2 bilge pumps with electronic float switches.  All of the mast, nav and interior lights work (they did last time they were used). She is registered, and insured for enclosed waters only.  The rigging is all over-sized and is about 15 years old.  There are no sails, but there are two anchors.  The clears are all fatigued.  There is rot around the original portholes where the seals have failed, and the Oregon mast is missing a spreader (although I have made a replacement but not got around to painting it and putting it back - it will come with the boat).  The boom is also solid Oregon. The pilot house is comfortable with full standing room (around 6'2") and removable tiller (very handy in the rain).  You descend down several steps with a lounge to the port and galley on the starboard (there are only cupboards and a sink with pressured cold water but no stove or refrigeration).  There is a separate head and shower to port , however the head has not been used for many years as there is no holding tank.  There is a large triangular berth forward.  The interior was refitted with cedar in the 1970s.The sale is on the basis of "as is where is", and I would like her removed from the mooring in Bedlam Bay on the Parramatta River within 2 weeks of being sold.  The kids have all grown up, and Songbird has served us well.  If you have the knowledge she can be restored to a fine vessel, an example of Australian maritime history or if you have the facilities, she could be decommissioned and the winches (2 modern and 2 antique brass) plus the keel lead, rigging and engine would prove valuable salvage.Make no mistake, she has classic lines (if you ignore the pilot house), and is in need of significant work.  You should assume everything needs work, and any gear is all time expired and she is effectively a bare boat (no equipment or gear apart from the two anchors).  She is "as is where is" and you will need to organise a way of taking her.  I have tried to cover the good, bad and the ugly in the above, and happy to answer any questions.
