Hovercraft for sale! Wouldn’t you love to have such a fun vehicle, to explore interesting and inaccessible places?! As the weather is getting warmer, what a perfect way to spend a weekend, roaming around on grassy fields or exploring rivers and estuaries. We purchased this two-seater Hovercraft from the previous owner in November 2014, to entertain guests that visit our workshop, but unfortunately we just don’t have the time to use it anymore. The previous owner had this Hovercraft since new, and you can see videos of it on Youtube. See www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKvIPTqIK4w and www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIIZrYAtbeY.The hovercraft has an electric start Rotax 503 two stroke twin cylinder “microlight” engine with good compression on both cylinders. It must be run on Ethanol free pre-mixed fuel, at a ratio of 50/1, using good quality 2 stroke oil. The 12v starter battery holds its voltage when in use, but it is recommended to be charged before “flying”. The battery is only used for starting the engine, once running, the ignition is magneto powered. You should get about 45 minutes to an hour of flying time with a full tank of fuel, depending on how you are operating it (fast or slow). We have the manual for that, plus various spares and tools. The trailer (which is mounted with a winch and has a spare tire) is included as part of the purchase. The winch is a great labour-saving device for simplifying getting the Hovercraft back on to the trailer single-handed, from the water or land. For those who have little or no previous experience with hovercraft, cruising hovercraft can be used on any reasonably flat and smooth land (such as fields or beaches) or any place that a boat can be used. They have the same navigation rights (and responsibilities!) as other watercraft. Tidal water is normally freely navigable, you can also use rivers (only on the tidal sections without consent) or inland waterways such as lakes (consent will probably be required). Do take a look at the Hovercraft Club website as they provide a lot of useful information, news and advice about hovercraft and hovercrafting (see www.hovercraft.org.uk). We hope our Hovercraft will find a good home and plenty more adventures! Please get hold of us if you have any questions.
