Relisted following an attempted scam with a false buyer and an attempted paypal hack. Please... no more scammers...Rival 34’s are distinctive and highly regarded, with a real following in the serious cruising community. The excellent sea keeping capabilities and easy handling make it an ideal long distance passage maker. Her shallow 4ft 8 draft allows easy passage locally in the Florida ICW as well as over the Bahamas bank. Her rig is an easily manageable sloop. Halyards are kept at the mast and head sails are hank on, with a spinnaker and spinnaker pole. Hank on sails make her the perfect ‘sailors’ boat that will carry on business as usual as the wind builds and you shorten sail. There is an increase in effort over furling sails but this will reward you with better performance and increased reliability. The mainsail and working jib are in very good condition and the jib sheets, mail sheet and helm can all be handled without moving from the sculpted stainless steel tiller. ‘Bluenose’ was built in 1978 and has recently proven herself sailing from the UK to her present home in Florida. She was surveyed for the trip and many new additions made including new standing rigging, VHF, batteries, LED lighting and a new high spec 4 man I.S.O. standard offshore life raft. She also has a much sought after bronze Aries wind vane, a Simrad tiller pilot and a good cruising inventory. In anticipation of a return trip across the Atlantic to England she now has a new Beta engine, however as we are now expecting our first baby I must now reluctantly sell Bluey. She has been kept very simple to allow easy maintenance and low cost worry free cruising. This does however mean she has no windlass, fridge, pressurized hot water system or icemaker. There is also an old Avon Redcrest dinghy with sturdy wooden oars. A good solid boat with a proven pedigree, set up for simplicity, which also makes her a blank canvas for updating with tech and creature comforts. The forward cabin contains the v berth with a fill in cushion creating a double berth. There is bow storage and under bunk storage space. The heads compartment is midships with a blakes sea toilet, a large pull out basin and cold water supplied by foot pump. Opposite is a large hanging/wet locker. The main saloon has two side berths around a large fold up table. Cushions throughout the boat are blue vinal covered. There is storage under the berths and behind the back cushions. There are also easy access lockers along each wall with a book shelf to port. The galley has a Neptune 2000 oven with grill and two hobs, a square boat frying pan and kettle and galley storage lockers. The sink has both fresh and sea water taps both supplied by foot pump (all the same design to keep spares to a minimum). Opposite the galley is a good sized chart table with chart shelf below and book storage below that. The electrics panel is to the side with barometer and a sculpture of Aeoli, Greek god of wind. Aft of the chart table is a sail stowage area/quarter berth. Batteries are located below with two house batteries for extra capacity and an engine cranking battery. These were all replaced before the before the transatlantic to Florida. In the storage under the quarter berth are the storm boards. There are wooden wash boards at the companionway and also a clear plastic set for sailing. Please email me for further information and inventory mikemartin28@hotmail.com
