Hello and thanks for looking.Purchased this vessel in early 2009, and have completely restored this Sailboat over the past 7 years. Vessel set up for Shorthanded/Singlehanded sailing, and I then sailed 'solo/singlehanded', to Hawaii in October 2011.
This was my third large sailboat project that I have completed within the last 15 years.
Additionally, was a LBYC member for 34 years and have completed two; Long Beach to Hawaii Transpac races, so this was a vessel that I always wanted to set-up as a long distant turn-key and liveaboard capable sailboat.
The vessel is a rare/restored turnkey classic. Only approximately 30 of the 120 total fabricated over a 10 year time frame are completely restored like this one - look no further!
The vessel is being sold at a discounted price point, because investing funds my business. I have over: $140K in total cost and upgrades in this boat. This vessel needs only a short-list of haul out items to be accomplished to be ready to sail on a long distance sailing adventure.
All major systems have been "replaced", on this vessel:
Vessel surveyed in 2012 for $ 14,000 more than asking selling price.
This is "the only", repowered Cummins Turbo Diesel in world (in this vessel). I.e. Fuel burn is 1.40 GPH @ 1,100 RPM @ 6.5 to 7.4 knots with a 1,700 N.M. range. This vessel is a true motorsailer now, with the turbo Cummins 6-BT power plant installed. Total engine hours 681.
If you are seeking a serious turn key Sailing Yacht that needs nothing, or an excellent roomy live aboard, this sailboat is a great choice.
Why go buy a dock queen and dump $ 1,000's into your dream boat.... This vessel is completely restored. I went 'full-tilt', replacing all major systems, and this vessel is a turn key sailboat.
Just a sample of the major systems replaced;
Cummins Turbo Diesel repower, total cost $ 38,000; 2010
New "North Sails", $ 13,000.00 custom (5) batton cruising mainsail; 2012
"Everything" below the waterline has been replaced. All new through-hull fittings, new custom drive shaft $ 4,200, new propeller $ 1,800, new transmission $ 3,200, all replaced in 2010, last haulout 2012
Rigging 'tuned', twice yearly since owned
Custom 42' to 54' 304 1'' O.D. stainless steel railing $ 12,000; Installed in 2011
Rutland 913 Port/Starboard mounted wind turbines (rated @ 400 watts each)$ 3,800. (5) 195 watt tempered glass solar panels $ 1,200; 2010
All new Garmin Electronics - complete package, $7,900 + new Simrad AP-28 autopilot $ 3,200; 2010
Magnum electronic digitally controlled electrical system - replaced old electrical system $ 4,800; 2010.
Frigicool “new” refrigerator installed, $2,800; 2014
New Paint (Awgrip 2-stage hull and spars) 2010, and varnish (Captains 1015), both inside and out; 2016
Have $ 13,000 in shipyard receipts
