Up for auction is a 1978 20 1/2 foot PENN YAN Explorer. This boat has the famous Penn Yan fiberglass lapstrake hull. The boat was professionally rebuilt in 2003. The whole interior of the boat was removed, stripped down to the bare hull (I have pictures of the rebuild). The forward cabinet work was all redone with new teak high pressure laminate. The boat was stripped to the gunnels and new marine grade white and blue vinyl was installed. The original port lay down seat and two jump seats were reupholstered in new marine grade white vinyl. The starboard seat was replaced with a new swivel captain's chair that has fore and aft adjustments. In addition, two removable swivel captains chairs were added midship. The boat now has a seating capacity of seven adults. Additionally, the hull was professionally refurbished in 2011. The hull looks like the day it was delivered. The interior of the boat was completely redone in 2003 with Nautulex deck covering, refurbished teak trim, all new Faria guages and tachcometer. The original metal fuel tank was replaced with an ethanol compatible one. The boat comes equipped a AM/FM  Polyplanar CD stereo system with remote, four Polyplanar high capacity speakers, Shakespeare AM/FM antenna. The boat also has a Sirius dome radio antenna already wired and installed. The boat has a deck mounted GUEST chrome remote spot light, dual chrome trumpet horns, and adjustable Bennett trim tabs. All navigational lights are operable. Installed electronics include, a Ritchie illuminated compass, Hummingbird depth/fish finder, two Garmin GPS/ chart plotters and ship to shore radio with seven foot Shakespeare antenna. The boat has been equipped with a dual battery system, high capacity bilge pump with bilge alarm, and stainless steel boarding ladder. Both the upper and lower units have been professionally rebuilt. THE BOAT HAS NEVER BEEN IN SALTWATER AND HAS NEVER BEEN LEFT IN WATER OVERNIGHT SINCE BEING PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT IN 2003. THE BOAT AND TRAILER HAVE BEEN PROFESSIONALLY SERVICED TWICE A YEAR SINCE PURCHASED IN 2003. I AM THE THIRD OWNER. ALL SERVICE RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION AND WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE SALE. ALL SAFETY EQUIPMENT IS INCLUDED ALONG WITH HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS OF NEW PARTS. ALSO INCLUDED ARE A CUSTOM MADE SUNBRELLA MOORING COVER AND THE ORIGINAL PENN YAN DUCK CLOTH BIMINI WHICH IS IN GOOD CONDITION.  

The sale includes a 2001 LoadRite Dual Wheel Trailer with a load capacity of 4,200 lbs. The trailer has surge brakes on all four wheels. The trailer has two spare tires that are new. The trailer is equipped with four Goodyear Marathon tires that were made in Canada, not the cheap Chinese versions. The trailer has yellow rollers for long life and a black mark free hull.  There are just too many features on this boat to list it all here. This boat is worth an inspection.
