Here for sale is my classic Lytton Arran 18. I traded up to her after many years on dinghies as I wanted to try out a keelboat for my young family. She has been an ideal starter boat and not having to faff about with wetsuits and instead being able to go out in normal comfy clothes has been a real revelation but unfortunately my kids preferred the dinghies! She could do with a tidy up but she is sound, leak free and ready to sail for this season. I have just anti-fouled her (I use Precision Paint as it's more expensive but brilliant) and nothing is required prior to a nice sunny sail. She is currnently ashore at South Woodham Ferrers Yacht Club in Essex and I would welcome anyone wishing to view. BTW, if you are local to the club there are various moorings for sale and the club fees are extremely reasonable! Draught on the Arran is extremely shallow - she was shown as 2.1' on the brochure, but I have actually run her at less than two feet. A tense moment for sure, but she made it. The twin bilge keels allow an easy, safe platform should it dry out. A bonus if you are staying onboard overnight as I have done occasionally - my memory of lying on the deck on a summers evening seeing the stars come out after watching a seal and her cubs was something I will never forget! (OK Mr Jack Daniels helped a little). She was listed as a 3 berth - two up front and one in the cabin. The sails are a little tired, but they are perfectly useable and the main was fitted with sliders only last year. This makes hoisting and dropping the main so much easier, a real bonus if you are single handed (as I often found I was!).I was going to sell the tender separately but thought I would sell both together. Again, she is leak-free and is able to take an outboard. She will come with the launching trolley, rowlocks and oars for those that like to put the effort in!A few points on the Arran:Roller furling jib
Portable toilet
Cockpit mounted compass
Garmin Fishfinder 100 (I used primarily for the depth sounder)
NASA stingray VHF radio (with cockpit speaker)
Sink with electric pumped cold water
Tilley twin gas hob (including gas bottle)
12v electrics with solar trickle charger panel
Nav/cabin lights
Radio/MP3 (USB) player
Various fenders and lines
Secure and easily accessed anchor and chainPlease note that the pics do not show the jib fitted (it has been in the house over winter) and the handheld radio will not be included in the sale. I do not have a trailer for the Arran.I have spent more on this boat over the last 4 years than she is on sale for, so get yourself a real taste of keelboat ownership for less than the cost of a dinghy! And at only 700kg, easy to manage into the cradle at the end of the season.Text or call on 07808 174814. Texts will usually get a better response as I work shifts. Thanks for looking!
