A 16ft Microplus 501 Explorer project boat.These boats are very popular and much older models still sell for good money.The hull on this boat is original gel coat and has only a few marks from normal use.The top side paintwork (blue) has not been done very well and could do with repainting.The 501 Explorer has the aluminium window frames and 2 of the windows slide open making this a more desirable model.It has no fore hatch but it would be eassy to make a replacement.It will need new rubber round the gunwale and a new steering system.The cabin has room for a small cooker (not included) and 2 small berths. It also has a small lift out sink.It has flaking paintwork inside, no cushions and the locker lids could do with replacing.The cockpit floor is double skinned and will require some loose plywood laying over the top.A useful feature of this model is the seating arrangement either side of the outboard well.One very good feature of these boats is the sliding door to the cabin which takes up much less room than the normal opening ones.The hull has a nice fine entry and then flares out to flat chines which makes it a relatively stable boat when afloat.This boat will perform well with only a relatively small outboard.NO TRAILER NO ENGINEViewing welcome.A very worthwhile project.Assistance with lifting on to your trailer is available.
