| This is an extremely rare FeatherCraft Firefly, a racing hull that was made in 1950. There are not very many around and are referred to in the FeatherCraft community as a "Holy Grail" boat. The last one to be listed and/or sell on eBay was over a year and a half ago. That boat was missing the bulkhead and one of the castings. If you are not familiar with the FeatherCraft boats, you can research feathercraft.net for more information. They are quickly growing in interest as more people discover these special crafts and are known for their high level of engineering, fit and finish. Very structurally sound boats that were designed by aircraft engineers following the end of WWII. The Firefly was a race specific hull design that was built to take the abuse of race conditions, maintain it's light hull (130#'s) and minimize drag. The planning surface changes from the traditional rivets to flush rivets to minimize drag at high speed. The boat is rated for a 16hp outboard and will really move with a small outboard.
